Olympians
is one of the best things I have ever been involved in. I love the
people, and I love doing athletics and having fun. I think that this is
one of Olympians strong points - you can never go home feeling that
you hate athletics and never want to do it again. I can't think of
any other reasons why I'm still there really except that I love it. |

I
think the whole organisation is fantastic. It's a brilliant thing
for youngsters to get involved in for many different reasons, and
there is no way I could have achieved what I have without Olympians.
It's friendly, fun, beneficial and a brilliant hobby. Plus the fact
that it is a really successful club! When I go away to university I
will miss Olympians terribly. Of course I will still train but it
just won't be the same as the training sessions at the club I have
been a member of for 9 years. I would encourage anyone to get
involved with Olympians, if only just for the social side, you don't
actually have to be good at anything. |

When
I first joined Olympians, I was really nervous & I didn't want
to go without a friend. But now I don't mind about who's there. They
are all my friends. |

I
don't think that there is another club in the county that makes
children love athletics as much as Olympians does. Although the club
is successful, the emphasis has never been placed on doing well all
the time (hence the Cheshire League!!!) There is no sort of elitism
going on so everyone who joins the club knows that they will get a
chance to put on a vest and compete for Oswestry in one thing or
another. I think the fact that I had been at the club for the best
part of half of my life reflects the enjoyment that I and many other
young athletes get from the Olympians. The coaches are patient even
with the most difficult of youngsters and on the whole everyone seems
to get on. The club boasts an atmosphere that many other clubs have
good reason to be envious of. |

The
club is a good club to run for. It has a lot of support from the
coaches and no one is pushed by them. |
|
Olympians is brilliant. It keeps you fit and is really enjoyable. I think more people should join, as in Oswestry a lot of kids just walk about town doin' nothing. At about under 15 (where I am now) a lot of the boys drop out to play football and they think it's boring. I think it's ace. I play football and keep up Olympians. James Henderson April 2001 |
