Shropshire Young Athletes Cross Country League
Final Bridgnorth 9th December 2001

Junior Olympians have once again taken the majority of Trophies in the Shropshire Young Athletes Cross Country League In another successful year Oswestry Olympians took 5 of the 9 Trophies on offer in the Shropshire League.
Besides taking the Trophy for Overall Boys, they also took the Trophies for Under 11 Girls, Under 11 Boys, Under 15 Girls & under 15 Boys. Olympians were also second team overall in the league, and the Under 13 Boys were 3rd team. There were also individual honours for Georgina Roberts (2nd Under 11 Girls) Josh Ogden (2nd Under 11 Boys) and Matt Butler (2nd Under 15 Boys). Gareth Horton just missed out on 3rd individual in Under 11 Boys. He and a boy from Telford both had 3rd, 3rd and 4th positions in the various races, they also had exactly the same time to the second for their 3 counting races. It was extremely close but the Telford lad got it because Gareth had missed the 4th race which would not normally be taken into account. 
But this year was much more a year of teams. Our runners supported their team mates and every single person made a difference in the complicated scoring system. Well done to them all they should feel proud of themselves.
Hopefully we should have final league figures in a few days, but in the meantime the results for this final meeting are on the results pages. If anyone has Photographs from the final meeting they will be included as soon as possible.
